Let’s build a new library, not renovate a courthouse


A presentation on the proposed new central library was recently conducted during a council meeting. The discourse surrounding a new library has been ongoing for well over two decades, and the current proposal falls short of what our community truly deserves. It is crucial that we advocate for a new purpose-built structure, specifically designed as a library, rather than repurposing an aging courthouse that predates our current library. Why can’t we have something new for once? Why does it always have to be a band aid fix of an existing building? Cough, cough, the Miners Forum. This October is an election cycle. Let’s demand change.
